Last week was an eventful time to say the least. Our Friend Josh came to town and our plans were to go directly to the park. Plans fell through and I had to go into work Saturday. It all worked out, it would have been better if the tide had won, but Candace and Josh still had a good time at the Bama Alumni Bar. Later on that night i finally got off and we got back to the original game plan. First thing dinner we ate at a Mexican restaurant called Benny's. Then we were off to Cervantes' to see the New Deal. The next day we woke up late and it was cold and rainy. Its the first real rainy day that we have seen since we have been out here. The weather didnt get us down to much because before we knew it we were making the 20 min trek from the apartment to the Phish lot. We had one goal to find one ticket to a show that sold out in an hour. Lucky for us Josh found one after about an hour. The show was Rockin That was our first show in about a year. Next day Candace went to school me and Josh ate breakfast at a place called snooze. Very tasty eggs. After that we rode bikes downtown hung out and had a good time. Next day School and Clinical for Candace then the big boys. Josh hitched a ride with our friend Matt so he could get up there in time to find a ticket. He did. Me and Candace got up there shortly after in plenty time for some french bread pizzas and a couple of adult beverages, then off to the show. The next morning Candace and I got up early for Clinical and work, luckily on my drive in i got a call that the move had been pushed back i could come in later. I was very happy about this because i got the chance to sleep for one more hour and get Josh back to the airport. Which meant he saved 55 bucks on a long cab ride and was also excited.
The rest of the week went by as usual, until Friday, and we were off to Moab. The drive ended up not being as bad as I originally guessed even though we got a late start. So we pulled up to Moab about one in the morning to find out they were having not one but two marathons. Needless to say it was quite a challenge finding a hotel with any rooms left. Moab being only about four miles long and maybe a dozen traffic lights it was littered with hotels, motels, and inns. We stopped by at least ten until coming to pretty much the last one on the south part of town. They had one room left, although they were a little over what we wanted to pay what the heck it was my birthday weekend and we didn't feel like spending two nights on the ground. The next day, we woke up early, got packed, and set off for Arches National Park. After trying to negotiate our way in for free(i left the National Park Pass on my night stand) we paid the reasonable 10 dollars and we were in. All in all we hiked probably nine or ten miles and we saw more than 30 arches. It was a great day, and one last day in the heat wasn't to bad with old man winter approaching. We managed to get a reservation at one of the private campgrounds. We set up camp super fast and went to the local brew pub in town for some grub and suds. The next day we woke up early and went bouldering at a spot that is located right off the river, called Big Bend. After a while it started to get hot, and we got on the road The drive back was beautiful desert to mountains. The colors went red to green and in the foot hills of the mountains the aspen trees were still changing. We stopped in Edwards/Avon and grabbed some great pizza, at Local Joe's our friend Matt's pizza place, but before we got back we took in the mountains before they were completely covered in snow.

Rocktober
Its been about two weeks so I will try and remember the big details of the fortnight. We went up to Rocky Mountain National Park( a.k.a. The park or RMNP) after the BAMA Arkansas scare. It was about the best weather you could of ask for. We got to enjoy clear skies, glowing aspens, and bugling elk. After driving around for a while we took a hike up to Lake Hiayaha. On the hike we passed four other alpine lakes. After resting for a little bit at the last lake i didn't really feel like scrambling all the way up to Chaos Canyon where the massive boulder field or talus was. So I just did a few slab problems around the lake.
In other recent news I found a job working for a moving company. Its pretty rough on the body but it is money coming in.We have been going up to a climbing gym on Fridays for student night Candace really likes the ropes she is a good little sport climber. She also had to replace her battery on the new ride. Before the game Saturday Candace meet up with some girls in Wash Park for a picnic, while I played disc golf at a course in Conifer. Then we went to the BAMA bar for the Florida massacre. The next morning i went up to Mt evens for the last day the road to the summit was open. I fell of off the jug on the last move on a tough V6 called FourIvery, ohh well there is always next spring. Speaking of Mt Evans it was covered in snow on my way to work this morning.
School is going good Candace made an 82 on one of her midterms and has been studying for her next . I made an A on my last math test and have finally started my writing class. But we have a lot to be distracted by this weekend/ phish shows. My buddy Josh is coming in tonight so hopefully we will get out to the mountains Saturday, but back in time for The New Deal. Sunday night we have to find one ticket to get us all in the show I think we can do it. Then work, school and maybe a micro mountain trip and we will all try to get into the last show Tuesday night. Then Josh flies back on Wednesday. Then before you know it it will be my birthday I cant decide if i want to go to more concerts or go to the desert. Life is full of hard decisions we will see how it goes.
